What is your name and where are you from?
Meghan (Devine) Golden, born and raised on Cape Cod, currently live in Braintree, MA.
What are some of your interests/hobbies?
Playing basketball, watching all sports, running, reading, going to the beach, skiing, hanging out with my family.
When did you start working for Cumulus?
I am one of the co-founders, starting Cumulus in 2018.
How did you find your way to Cumulus, what is your background?
Prior to Cumulus, I was a Program Manager at Shell TechWorks, Shell’s technology center in Cambridge, Massachusetts. At STW, I led the Smart Torque System program from inception to commercialization and supported multiple deployments of the system throughout the world. Prior to joining Shell, I worked in the Defense Industry at QinetiQ and BBN Technologies (Raytheon), and served for 6 years on active duty as an officer in the U.S. Army. I graduated from The United States Military Academy in 2001, am a combat veteran of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, and a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal.
What do you most enjoy about working at Cumulus?
Working at Cumulus feels like being part of a team. Playing sports has always been a big part of my life, and being part of a team is something that feeds my soul. In sports, each member of the team plays an integral role in helping the team succeed, and the same is true at Cumulus. Cumulus has a diverse team with many different skill sets and backgrounds. These skills meld together and complement each other to form a cohesive team working hard toward a common goal. But it’s not all hard work! We make sure to have fun and create social events that help build stronger relationships within our team.
What project have you been most excited or proud to have been part of?
Smart Torque System! But I’m also proud of the work I did at BBN Technologies creating life-saving technology for U.S. soldiers serving in our nation’s wars. I was the deputy program manager for Boomerang, a state-of-the-art shooter detection system. Boomerang detects incoming small-arms fire, and pinpoints the shooter’s location. The system uses passive acoustic detection and computer-based signal processing to locate a shooter in less than a second.
