Cumulus is seeking a self-motivated and high-performing Commercial Director to help us meet our aggressive customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives in the Americas. Your responsibilities will include developing key growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans, hitting annual sales targets, building relationships with customers, and understanding industry trends. This position will be based in Houston.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base

  • Conduct market research to identify selling possibilities, emerging markets, market shifts and evaluate customer needs, always maintaining awareness of the competition and their products

  • Partner with existing customers to understand their business needs and objectives, gathering feedback to share with internal teams to drive improvements of current products/service and help develop future products/services

  • Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and conferences

  • Effectively communicate the value proposition of our products through proposals and presentations

  • Negotiate/close deals

  • Own and hit/exceed annual sales targets 

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports and forecasts

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a sales executive, sales manager or sales and marketing director in enterprise software, preferably in an industrial environment

  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, from field worker to C-level executive

  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close

  • Proven ability to articulate the differentiated value proposition of products and services

  • Proven ability to position products against competitors

  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills

  • Willingness to travel up to 75% domestically and internationally

  • Comfort working in an industrial environment and willingness to deploy to the field

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
